Enabling the further diversification of power sources is even more crucial at a time where there is an increased necessity for inclusive and sustainable development. This has been among the key objectives of the Philippine energy sector which has put in place important initiatives such as the Green Energy Option Program or GEOP, which allows consumers to source their energy from renewable sources. Recent reports indicate that the GEOP Rules are set to be released by April 2021.

Last 16 February the ECCP and the National Renewable Energy Board (NREB) launched the REPH100 initiative. As we move forward with this objective, the ECCP, together with NREB, is organizing the virtual forum entitled "Empowering Consumer Choice and Energy Diversification". This event will allow energy stakeholders at all levels to better understand and further collaborate through such measures that provide end-users a wider array of choices while advancing the country's clean energy agenda.
