On 27 November 2020, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) Real Estate Committee, together with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) will share an overview of the Digital Cities 2025.
Join us as our speakers from the government and private sector underscore the significance and purpose of the Digital Cities 2020 program that will drive inclusive growth in the countryside by transforming them into bustling IT and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) hubs within five years and promoting the growth of the Philippine economy.
With the emerging digital workforce, the five-year program will prioritize internet connectivity and digital education for the talent pool. There will be a surge in IT-BPM demand once the country and the rest of the world settle into the new normal and these IT-BPM hubs shall serve as business and innovation centers to draw in investments that help create more jobs and other economic opportunities in areas outside Metro Manila.
Assistant Secretary Emmanuel "Manny" Rey Caintic is a multifaceted senior IT leader with two decades of experience in application design, software architecture, and implementation for various enterprises. He has domain expertise in the areas of public fiscal management, government procurement, healthcare, banking, and capital markets. He is currently the Assistant Secretary for Digital Philippines at the DICT and was former Chief Technology Officer at the Philippine Stock Exchange.
He also recently provided consultancies to diverse establishments, including USAID, the Anti-Red Tape Authority, Securities and Exchange Commission, MediCard Philippines, Inc., the Bureau of the Treasury, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, among others. He holds a dual degree in Physics and Computer Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University, and is finishing his Masters in Business Economics from the University of the Asia and the Pacific.
Mr. Untal, as IBPAP’s President & CEO, plays the crucial role of being the voice of the Philippine IT-BPM industry. One of his key roles is to advocate for the Philippines’ unique value proposition in order to attract investors and locators to the country. He also works passionately with key stakeholders in the academe and the government to help sustain the growth of the sector globally and domestically.
He spent 19 years working at Accenture where he started off as an Experienced Manager providing consultancy services to a number of international and local clients, which led to a three-year expatriate assignment in Australia and Singapore. He was then promoted to Managing Director in 2006 and from there assumed a broader set of project management responsibilities. Until his retirement in August of 2016, he served as the Industry Group Lead for the Communications, Media & Entertainment, and High-Tech Portfolio in Accenture’s Philippine Delivery Center. Mr. Untal also worked at Nestle, Cargill, and ICTSI earlier in his career.
ADavid Leechiu is CEO of Leechiu Property Consultants, Inc. (LPC). David has twenty-five (25) years of experience in real estate and is considered the leading commercial real estate broker in the Philippines. He has arranged the lease of more than one (1) million square meters of office space and sold more than USD two (2) billion in real estate.
David having earned his BA Major in Entrepreenurial Management from the University of Asia and the Pacific and took a Management Development Program at the Asia Institute of Management.
MHe was the former President and CEO of IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP). He was the National Technology Officer for Microsoft and the Business Development Director for Convergys Corporation. He also worked for IBM Philippines, Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, and Permastress Industries Incorporated.
He is a consultant, specializing in sales, marketing and customer relations. He is a certified Executive Coach and a graduate of the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
