About the Renewable Energy sector in Cambodia:

Cambodia has experienced two decades of strong economic growth. An average GDP growth rate of 7.7% from 1995-2017 places it as the 6th fastest growing economy in the world, and this growth is expected to continue. This trend has profound implications for the energy sector, with ever-growing domestic demand for electricity encouraging considerable domestic and foreign direct investment (FDI) into energy production. In addition, the Government of Cambodia has set energy self-sufficiency as a key priority while achieving significant progress in urban and rural electrification.

In this context, renewable energy plays a key role. Cambodia has some of the best solar resources in the region, due to high average irradiation rates, and solar energy is finding its feet in the country. As of today, a few large scale projects have already been approved, as well as numerous household-level projects. And there is much more to come!

Join us on the 08th October to learn from two key experts in the renewable energy sector, as they describe their first hand experiences navigating the business opportunities in the country.
