The ECCP Future Cities Forum 2022 aims to draw the attention and commitment of smart city stakeholders to the need to organize cities better so that it can effectively address the challenges of a growing population, climate change, increasing industrialization, engaging communities and citizens as well as meeting the demand for efficient and sustainable infrastructure.

Over the last three years, the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the need for cities to transform digitally and sustainably to better promote health security, safer mobility and logistics, remote business processes, online delivery of public services, digital community participation, and climate change adaptation. Addressing these concerns requires a combination of smart city solutions that can support the digital and sustainable transformation of cities.

In this session, we feature "Smart City Solutions from Finland" and present insights from leading industry players on smart city project developments in the Philippines as well as best practices/solutions in smart city development and the important role of LGUs in initiating smart city initiatives.

Finland is leading the way in smart city development in Europe with all services fully connected in the whole country. It is one of the greenest countries in the world and among the best in innovation. Finnish smart city solutions are comprehensive covering smart building and planning, sustainable mobility, smart connectivity, circular economy, energy transition, and citizen participation, among others.

This session will provide a two-way discussion among stakeholders on how Finland and the Philippines can collaborate to support the development of smart cities in the Philippines.
