The FISCAL Incentives Review Board (FIRB) has given a directive that companies in the Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO) industry are to revert to the pre-pandemic office setting, in line with the relaxation of travel protocols. The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), along with the IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), appealed for the deadline to be pushed back, especially with the rising fuel prices, which impacts transportation costs for workers. Several concerns such as transportation costs, protection of on-site workers and commuters, as well as adjustments to tax incentives and employment law have risen. Following this directive, various stakeholders have released their positions and recommendations on the work-set up in the Philippines as the country moves towards the post-pandemic era.

With all these factors in mind, it is crucial to understand the point-of-view of those companies that are affected by the return-to-office order, as well as to see this issue from a legal perspective to tackle the employment law aspects. This webinar will feature speakers from PEZA, IBPAP, IT-BPO firms, as well as Quisumbing Torres, who will discuss how the notice of return-to-office will affect the people in their respective fields and suggestions on how companies can go about and adjust to the given regulations.
