In recent years, the Philippines' agricultural sector has made numerous efforts to maximize the growth potentials of bamboo. If properly utilized, these high-value crops are an appealing green product alternative in local commercial and industrial spheres given its durable quality, product versatility, and crop growth sustainability. In its harvested form, bamboo can be used as a good construction material or commercial product which has already caught the attention of the global market.

Following the previous years with successful seminars, trainings, webinars and forum focusing on Bamboo, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) is organizing the "UNTAPPED GREEN SECTOR: A WEBINAR SERIES ON BAMBOO". This webinar series comprise six (6) virtual events for the rest of the year touching on different aspects and industries focusing on Bamboo. The first leg of the series will be on March 25, 2022 from 10:30AM-12:00NN via Zoom called the "Untapped Green Sector: Bamboo in Resilient Infrastructures". Our guest speaker for this event is Architect Ray Villanueva of Kawayan Collective, owner of the social enterprise in Negros Oriental who aggregates, processes and distributes beautiful, durable, Philippine bamboo as a sustainable construction material. This webinar aims to elevate bamboo as a sustainable, durable, beautiful building material for better homes for all citizens of a nation and the advancement of Philippine bamboo as a modern building material. With the onslaught of Typhoon Odette, a lot of residences and enterprises have been affected but Bamboo-made infrastructures have withstood the effects of the typhoon making the Bamboo a resilient material for our future buildings and other infrastructures.
