A year and a half into the COVID-19 pandemic, countries including those in Southeast Asia continue to face an uphill battle to arrest the third wave of infection as well as sustain its broad socio-economic recovery plans. It is imperative that countries in the region, especially key emerging markets, take the lead in restoring confidence and put ASEAN's growth story back on track. This would require a coordinated effort among stakeholders including policymakers and the private sector across the region to mobilize all policy tools, strengthen social safety nets, leverage its strength in digital trade, and scale up its region-wide pandemic response.

With this in mind, the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, in collaboration with the European chambers of commerce in Indonesia, and Singapore, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in Mindanao, and the Consulate General of Japan in Davao, is hosting a joint business conference to address challenges and explore opportunities that would advance economic integration in the region against the backdrop of the ongoing global health crisis. This event seeks to provide an effective platform to strengthen partnerships and increase awareness of the business opportunities in the southern Philippines and the neighboring countries in Southeast Asia.

Join us on August 24, 2021, from 03:00 PM – 05:00 PM, as we hear from business leaders from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Japan discuss how they proactively responded and recovered during these challenging times, as well as touch on cross-border trade, and investment opportunities. This conference will provide an avenue to promote the upcoming two-part series of the conference highlighting the potential of the region.
