To be at the forefront of selling the Philippines as a retirement haven and premier healthcare destination for retiring executives and those in need of medical attention is nothing short of a monumental task.

For Marc Daubenbuechel, executive director of International Chambers of Retirement and Healthcare Coalition Inc., this duty is just as fulfilling and enjoyable though, as any other job in the world, despite its demanding and physically draining nature.

Since 2008, Daubenbuechel has been at the helm of RHC, a nonstock, nonprofit organization formed by the American, European, Japanese and Korean Chambers of Commerce with the main mission of helping promote retirement and healthcare in the Philippines.

As one of the country’s foremost tourism ambassadors, Daubenbuechel is always on the move that calling his schedule hectic would be an understatement. He usually works round the clock, juggling several tasks at hand all at the same time.

He does all these for the sake of convincing more visitors and retirees to come and visit the country.

While anyone might have easily crumbled in the face of such a frenetic and fast-paced lifestyle, Daubenbuechel refuses to flinch even for a bit. Despite the grueling nature of his work, Daubenbuechel manages to maintain a healthy body and avoid other health-related risks, thanks to the preventive healthcare service of Healthway Medical.

Mall-based clinics

Healthway Medical, the most preferred mall-based multispecialty clinics located in major shopping malls in the country, is offering a preventive healthcare program for topnotch executives like Daubenbuechel.

Called HealthCheQ HIM, this offering is among Healthway’s premium lines of medical checkup packages specially designed for individuals who have a fast-paced lifestyle. It comprises procedures carried out by Healthway’s team of experienced doctors and specialists, complemented with complete laboratory and world-class diagnostic facilities.

HealthCheQ HIM’s packages include complete laboratory and imaging studies, a comprehensive physical evaluation and other special examinations needed for preventive healthcare. Other premium perks included in the program are two specialist-consult options, postfasting breakfast, Intense Diamond Peel Gift Certificate, P200 worth of gift certificate valid at any Healthway pharmacy and three pieces of Wellness Visa (a transferable and free medical checkup from any primary care physician).

A big help

“HealthCheQ HIM is definitely a big help for executives like me, who despite our busy schedules, still try to devote some time for our health and medical checkups,” said Daubenbuechel, one of the HealthCheQ Ambassadors for 2012. “Thanks to HealthCheQ HIM, I was able to stay healthy since I was able to avoid the risks and other health factors identified by the program.”

“Since it’s with Healthway, the quality of the medical procedures is assured and I can walk out with the results within the day,” he added. “Plus, it is so convenient given the presence of Healthway’s network of clinics in Manila’s major malls.”

“Exercising regularly and eating a balanced diet do not guarantee the absence of underlying health problems,” said Carmie De Leon, Healthway vice president for sales and marketing. “Using extensively our pool of specialists and experienced doctors, as well as our innovative medical procedures and world-class facilities, we help our clients stay healthy by identifying possible risk factors or silent diseases at an early stage,” she added.

“Diseases can be more successfully treated when detected early and so a regular checkup could save your life,” De Leon added.

Access to this premium healthcare offering is no problem since Healthway Medical is present at major malls of Metro Manila. Healthway branches are located at Market Market!, Robinsons Manila, Edsa Shangri-La, Alabang Town Center, Festival Mall, SM City-The Block, and Greenbelt 5.
