The Women in Business Committee of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines recently held the Women in Business Forum (WBF), an annual event that represents WBC's commitment and passion advancing its gender equality and women equality advocacy by celebrating collective achievements and progress in promoting the same, by encouraging participants to work together to identify innovative and effective solutions and strategies, and by enabling professional women and female business leaders to contribute to their workplace.
Women of influence from different industries recently gathered together at the WBF 2018 forum with the theme "Work Culture and Beyond," to share success stories in narrowing the remaining gender gap in society.
Leni Bantiling, vice president for Business Development of Trends and Concepts Total Interior Solutions Inc., focused on bridging the gap between women business leaders and millennials as the next leaders of the business community. Michelle Garcia, president of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), talked on PMAP's initiatives and the Philippine private sector situation in promoting women and gender equality.
Boots Garcia, chair of the Philippine Women's Economic Network (PhilWEN), highlighted PHILWEN's initiatives and its advocacy's impact in the Philippine economy. Myrna Yao of Richprime tackled their work culture in implementing women quality and gender equality in their organization and encouraged specific initiatives and impact to the company to be shared. Senator Risa Hontiveros spoke on government initiatives in promoting equality in all sectors. One of which is the expanded maternity leave bill that will benefit working mothers, their newborns and businesses.
