TAGUIG CITY -- For the second year in a row, the Integrity Initiative presents "I Run For Integrity" on May 6, 2012 (Sunday) at the Bonifacio Global City starting at 4:00 AM.  An expected field of 7,000 runners will compete in the various distance categories of three, five, 10 and 15 kilometers.

Registration is going on at Chris Sports branches located at SM Mall of Asia, SM Megamall, Market Market, Festival Mall and Glorietta, Fitness and Athletics at Bonifacio High Street and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines at the Philippine AXA Life Center along Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati City.  Fees are reasonably pegged at PHP 600.00 for 15 kilometers and PHP 550.00 for the other distances.

The race kit includes a color-coded technical shirt, race number and timing chip plus a certificate and loot bag upon crossing the finish line.  As a bonus, all 15-kilometer finishers will receive a medal.  The shirt colors are white (3K), red (5K), blue (10K) and yellow (15K).

One thing that makes this run unique is that runners have to sign a pledge for integrity printed on the registration form.  The organizer, Integrity Initiative, is a private sector-led campaign that aims to promote and strengthen common ethical standards among various sectors of society.  It operates on the principle of inclusion and collective action.

Colorful singlets for the different distances: yellow (15K,) blue (10K), red (5K) and white (3K).

To insure that the race lives by its name, the organizers have tabbed veteran race director Rudy Biscocho to oversee operations.  During the recent media launch held at Fitness and Athletics, Mr. Biscocho vowed to go after all forms of cheating, including taking of shortcuts and the proliferation of bandits or unregistered runners.

Prizes await the top male and female finishers in all categories.  By the way, foreign runners have been allowed to participate but they will be ineligible to receive prizes without proper documents from concerned government agencies like the Bureau of Immigration and Department of Labor.

I Run For Integrity is made possible by Chris Sports and Convergys with the help of Aboitiz Power, Globaltronics and Smart.  Other supporters include Bellaroca Island Resorts and Spa, Blue Cross, DHL, Kellogg’s Special K, MAN Diesel, MSD, Planters Bank, Royal Cargo, The Medical City and United Salvage and Towage Philippines with Gold’s Gym as Wellness Partner.
