MANILA – The Philippines should manufacture more products instead of becoming a sub-assembly venue for goods, a European trade group leader said.
The prospect of removing incentives for foreign investors could drive businessmen to other Southeast Asian nations, said European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines president Guenter Taus.
"We really don’t manufacture, we actually assemble. We should be doing much more and we can be doing much more in order to have much more local contents," Taus said.
