Last April 12, 2018, DTI-CITEM held an Orientation Briefing for the upcoming Philippine Participation in Electronica, a leading trade fair focused on electronic components, systems and applications that covers technologies, products and solutions from the entire electronic industry. The next edition will be on 13-16 November 2018 at the Messe München Trade Fair Center, Munich, Germany.
Mr. Walter van Hattum, Head of Economic and Trade Section of the EU Delegation, discussed the market opportunities in Europe for the electronics companies, and also shared that EU-Philippines trade on electronics sector has been going strong, with electrical machinery and equipment as top import products of EU from the Philippines. Mr. Noli Nicanor, International Trade Fairs Manager of ECCP, discussed the fast facts about the 2018 edition, while the CITEM project team explained the advantages of joining the Philippine Pavilion, instead of an independent participation. Mr Olaf Gresens was also present at the briefing to share the success story of Integrated Micro-electronics Inc. (IMI) in their previous participations in the trade fair, and also provided recommendations on how Philippine companies can have a successful trade show participation in Electronica.
Other guests in attendance were representatives from the Export Marketing Bureau, Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc. (SEIPI), Electronics Industries Association of the Philippines (EIAPI), DOST, Tsukiden Electronics Phils. Inc. and other electronic companies.
