The Infrastructure and Transportation Committee had a meeting on 20 April. The members exchanged views on the following items:
PCAB: Liberalization of registration for Foreign-owned companies
The House of Representatives has conducted an inquiry regarding the direction of the government for the Infrastructure sector. Following this, House Committee Chair for Economic Affairs, Hon. Arthur Yap called hearings to hear the sentiments of all the stakeholders.
The ECCP and the EPBN has submitted a position paper on this topic. The position of the EPBN is for the construction sector to be competitive and to do that we need to have a level playing field hence, we believe that there should not be any national requirement.
Current status: The Economic Affairs Committee is now in the process of completing a committee report which will then be forwarded to the Committee Secretary for approval.
